On April 1, 2026, ahead of the official launch broadcast, NASA aired its “tanking” show from L 11 through L 6. Hosted by NASA’s Antonia Jaramillo, the program provided step by step commentary and interviews as teams loaded propellant into the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket. Artemis II will send astronauts on a journey around the Moon, the first crewed lunar flyby in more than 50 years. This mission marks the first time humans will travel beyond low Earth orbit since Apollo 17 in 1972, carrying its crew on a historic voyage to the far side of the Moon and back.
