NASA’s AV-6 Global Hawk remotely piloted aircraft lands at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia after studying the atmosphere at high altitudes. The Hurricane and Severe Storm Sentinel, or HS3 mission used two of these drones to study severe weather in real-time to help NASA scientists develop better models to predict the growth of storms and hurricanes.
