CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- At NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, social media participants were given an up-close look at one of the spaceport's mammoth crawler-transporters. Recent work has included preparations to install upgraded components that will enable the crawler to carry the greater loads anticipated with the agency's new rocket designed to take astronauts beyond low-Earth orbit for the first time since the early 1970s. The social media participants gathered at the Florida spaceport for the launch of the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite, or TDRS-L spacecraft.
