October 14, 2003. Cosmonaut Hotel, Baikonur, Kazakhstan. Expedition 8 Commander and NASA Science Officer Mike Foale and European Space Agency Astronaut Pedro Duque of Spain participate in the traditional raising of the flags at the Cosmonaut Hotel Oct. 14, 2003 as preparations continue for their launch to the International Space Station on the Soyuz TMA-3 vehicle on Oct. 18 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
